I am Christopher Gentle, Director of FlatMap IT. I am a multi-disciplinary and technical team leader, business analyst, systems engineer, and full stack software developer.

My expertise ranges from HL7, DICOM and FHIR integrations and clinical workflows, development of health informatics systems, remote system management stacks, VoIP, video and telecommunications infrastructure, data networking, banking systems and avionics simulation and testing. I've built complex real-time tactical, flight and avionics simulators, embedded systems, Windows and Linux system management applications, video, desktop applications, apps, web sites, security solutions, data warehouses and enterprise integrations.

I hold 35 US patents.

Recent projects include:

  • Business analysis, coordination, planning and implementation of large and complex integration projects for a medical imaging company.
  • An FDA grant project implementation of a standard-setting provenance-assuring 21CFR11 FHIR data warehouse.
  • An AWS-based Internet-facing privacy-preserving consent management API for patient reported outcome (PRO) apps.
  • Full-stack development of a cloud-based distributed contact center with AWS, Scala/PlayFramework, Twilio and Atlassian applications.
  • Development of a US-based clinical registry data warehouse, implementation of HL7/FHIR-based integrations with Medidata/RAVE, i2b2 leveraging the HAPI-FHIR project.
  • Development of a secure, gateway for ingesting patient reported outcome (PRO) data from enrolled users' apps to a clinical registry.
  • Implementation, management and change control of member collaboration and research workflow web tools for a US-based 501(c)(3) organisation.
